In HR and L&D you’re told endlessly that all your employees want is a fantastic learning and development programme. It’s the golden ticket to better engagement, retention and increased productivity.
And yet, they’re not turning up to the training you provide. You book them into external courses and their heads are elsewhere. They ask for management training, you organise management training, and they’re too busy, or away, or something else mysteriously appears in their calendar.
It’s a real pain.
We WANT people in our businesses that are continuous learners, always striving for more. We need employees who are curious about the changing world and willing to learn new skills and challenge the fundamental beliefs of business that just aren’t working anymore.
We need to harness that mentality and give them the tools they need to learn those skills in a way that suits their busy lifestyles.
If employees want to remain relevant, and have great working careers throughout their lives, they have to embrace new skills and new ways of doing things. And if businesses want to remain successful they have to incorporate learning across the whole business and help their staff believe in the aptitude and ability of everyone, in every team. If both sides want the same thing, why is it so hard to achieve?
Everyday is a school day.
At Jolt we believe you can create engaged L&D experiences. But how can businesses make sure their efforts are engaging?
For your employees to be happy with the training you provide , it should be from a product they would buy and use themselves without your facilitation.
Starting out as a purely B2C product has given us a fantastic opportunity to refine our product and make sure it’s exactly what our students need.
We’ve interviewed dozens of students in both London and Tel Aviv. Hundreds of hours of studies and interviews later, and gained an incredibly clear idea of exactly what employees need to gain a competitive advantage: the skills, the content, the networking.
We also talked with HR professionals from companies of all sizes, with CEOs, and read every possible study on the future of work. Our research was so extensive our CEO Roei Deutsch spoke on the BBC about it. This allowed us to build a B2B product that L&D teams love.
But we won’t stop there. Not now, not ever. On the contrary, we continue to measure everything possible: how satisfied our students are, how long it takes them to get to campus, how appropriate our curriculum is.
And here we are, half a year later, with a lot of insights, data, and an updated vision. Since Jolt started, we’ve seen thousands (3,245 to be exact) of students using Jolt and giving us their honest feedback after each session.
We understand our students better than ever. These are people who don’t wait for the world to fix them. They build themselves by themselves for themselves. They teach themselves new things in the workplace, and outside work. They own their careers, learning processes and personal development. They’re not afraid of change. They know change is opportunity.
Don’t they sound like the exact people you want to work for you?
Well they already do. You just need to release their curiosity, humility and the mindset that believes that each individual is capable of making the right moves to stay relevant and employable in this world of disruption and transformation. You have the opportunity to make it easier for them to reach the potential they know they possess.
Born in Silicon Valley and with campuses in London (Soho / Shoreditch) and Tel Aviv, Jolt has designed immersive learning experiences that give teams access to world-class leaders, interesting people and new ways of thinking.
Our ever expanding network of world-experts teach the secrets behind the world’s most coveted businesses. Your employees gain access to the tools, culture and mindsets that are used to build the startups, scale-ups and tech companies the world looks up to. Giving everyone a competitive advantage. Using the bespoke app each employee will be able to track exactly how competitive their advantage is with rewards, accolades and a progress tracker to keep them coming back to the Jolt room.
They'll learn the 21st Century skills and personal impact skills your business needs to win in today’s business world and you’ll be an L&D hero for giving them this opportunity.
A curious thing we learned during our research? Class sizes of fourteen are optimal for learning. So, if there’s one thing you can do tomorrow, it’s go into the boardroom and count the chairs.
We’re excited to announce that we’re curating a phenomenal network of the UK's most senior L&D and HR leaders who are passionate about creating change and shaping the future of business education to become part of Jolt’s Business Education Steering Committee.
